Look at what these presenters had to say about their experience with the Virginia Theatre Machine:

ke Public Libraries

“We are so grateful to the Virginia Theatre Machine for the production of “Master Thespian’s A Christmas Carol” at Roanoke Public Libraries.  What a great event!!  The audience (from below age 10 to about as high as it gets) were completely engaged and enthralled with the performance.  The actors were extremely talented and eager to perform. The whole production was a delight to experience and connected extremely well with all ages. The content was fresh and presented the traditional A Christmas Carol story in an innovative and unexpected manner, with depth, humour and special effects that impressed! On behalf of Roanoke Public Libraries, thank you very much for coming to Roanoke, VA!”

It was such a pleasure presenting your production of “A Christmas Carol” to our two high schools and middle school.  It was a delight working with your talented team and an even bigger delight for me to watch the faces of the audiences at each venue.  It’s been my experience that pre-teens and teens are one of the most difficult groups to bring theatrical experiences to, especially in a rural area such as ours where students have limited exposure and opportunity to explore through classes and activities.  I know that each of our three venues consisted of three very different types of audiences, including an advanced group of theatre students, high school athletes, and middle school beginning band members, and that your delightful production captured their full attention, not only entertaining but supplying a whole new way to experience theatre and the arts.

I have been intrigued for several years by the concept of Virginia Theatre Machine and am happy I finally acted on booking this unique traveling theatre company, and look forward to booking again in the near future.

I also wish to commend Mark and his entire team on being some of the most professional and personable people I have worked with – all this in frigid December weather!  Mark also worked diligently with me throughout the booking process and was patient during some busy and away times I experienced this fall.

Waller Mill Elementary School

As a Fine Arts Magnet School, our students benefit from seeing a variety of arts performances. Each year, The Virginia Theater Machine production continues to be a school favorite! In a time in our educational system, that we are encouraging our students to be problem solvers, critical thinkers and “out of the box” creators.  The Virginia Theater Machine exemplifies these qualities and is a perfect example of where their talents and hard work can take them.

We thank you for bringing this experience to our school. We look forward to working with you in the future!

Warren County Middle School

The Virginia Theatre Machine came to Warren County Middle School and put quite a twist on A Christmas Carol.  The Theatre Machine does outdoor theatre and since it was 30 degrees outside I was sure that the students would complain about the cold.   Because the students were so entertained they forgot to complain!  I have to admit I was surprised as well.   I expected a traditional  interpretation of the story, but the company really put life and laughter into their performance.  Students will enjoy it, and it takes less than an hour of your school day.  Well done Virginia Theatre Machine.
